In specific explanation, diabetes is the illness where there is disorder of the endocrine system. This disorder happens when the body doesn’t have ability to make insulin or when the body cannot give proper response to the effect of insulin that is given or injected to the body. Commonly, there are two types of diabetes you may want to learn about. The first type or Type I called insulin-dependent or juvenile diabetes. When someone has this Type I diabetes, he or she will need to get treatment with regular insulin therapy because the pancreas is unable to produce insulin or it just produces in a little of amount. In this Type I diabetes, the patient may have symptoms that appear abruptly and grow rapidly, the symptoms can be frequent urination, constants hunger, thirst, dehydration, and sudden weight loss. This juvenile diabetes mostly diagnosed during childhood or adolescence. Furthermore, the second type of diabetes is Type II or called non insulin dependent diabetes. Patients’ bodies with this Type II diabetes are able to produce insulin but cannot use it properly. So, the glucose which will become the main source of energy will be failed to use. Certainly, the major factor to indentify Type II diabetes is the obesity. Moreover, there are some vital symptoms shown that are commonly evolving gradually and steadily, like fatigue, thirst, frequent urination. Frequent infections, and blurred vision. After learning the types of diabetes, you can read further description about how to treat diabetes. For many diabetic patients, they can consume the combination of starchy food, meat, and dietary fiber. The measurement for each of them can be 1/2 part of the plate for starch, the 1/4 consists of raw or steamed vegetables, the 1/8 of red or white meat, and the remained space can be filled with oils. The starch can be bread, rice, legumes, or others. The vegetables suggested will be cabbage, lettuce, broccoli, etc. The choices for meat are pork, chicken and etc. Additionally, the oil should contain of antioxidant properties that may reduce cholesterol like the olive oil. Also, diabetic patient should keep in mind that they must have 55% to 60% carbohydrates for the daily basis caloric intake. In fact, other foods that may give diabetic patients adequate carbohydrates are low-fat milk and yoghurt. It is suggested for them to consume minimally two portions of dairy products each day. It is believed that yogurt is a high-nutritional valued food that will be very safe and beneficial to consume in daily basis. Besides yogurt that is full of protein, it is rich of calcium and phosphorus as well as zinc and iodine thiamine, vitamin A, and B12. So, this has become one most suggested essential food for diabetic patients.
