Small Bathroom Remodeling

By Joe Cole

In remodeling a small bathroom, the first step is to measure the size of the bathroom accurately. The next thing to do is to draw the bathroom's dimensions in a square graph with a perfect scale to make your further work easier. After you have the drawing, it is time for creativity. You should combine all of your creative designs that you want to have in your new bathroom and draw them in the graph. But first, you must draw the bathroom's outline in a separate sheet of the graph using the same scale of the previous graph.

In that outline, you should figure how you can combine all of your new designs like bathtubs sizes, shower cubicles, hangers, wash basin, taps, etc. To draw the sketches, you should get advices from people who have knowledge in the related fields like a civil engineer for example. You need to make sure that the sketches are suitable with the bathroom's outline that you have drawn.

The idea above is just an overview of a simple project of remodeling a small bathroom. If changing the whole bathroom is too costly for you, you can follow the tips below in order to increase your bathroom’s space.

Try to put the water heater or radiators as high as possible on the bathroom wall. If you put the water heater or radiators higher, you will have more space for other things like a sink for example. This tip will also make your bathroom look more spacious.

Choose a toilet that can be installed really close to the wall, or you can redesign the bathroom layout to make the position of the toilet really close to the wall. This is really important because placing the toilet in the middle of the bathroom will surely take a lot of space.

Thank you for sharing these remodeling tips, Joe. I just did a couple of baths and mounting the medicine cabinet into the wall, allowed for a smaller sink cabinet and made the bath appear larger.
Keep up the good work.
Best wishes.
